- 54: Tamada went stolidly on with his preparations
- 55: And Lund busied himself with his sextant
- 56: And Rainey told him of the fate of Carlsen's body
- 57: Tamada rolled up the captain's sleeve
- 58: The girl looked strangely at Tamada
- 59: And they could put in for Unalaska
- 60: Lund raised his eyebrows at Tamada
- 61: He does not want you to go on to Unalaska
- 62: Yet Rainey could not solve them
- 63: Lund looked like a bear surrounded by the dog pack
- 64: And Rainey got wearily to his feet
- 65: With Rainey herding back the seamen
- 66: Lund passed his hand over his face
- 67: Rainey was bruised and stiffened
- 68: Lund looked uncertainly at Rainey
- 69: And glared almost defiantly at Lund
- 70: Lund stripped off a pillow case and dumped them in
- 71: Rainey was sure that Tamada had not mentioned it
- 72: While Rainey took the book silently
- 73: Tamada serving her meals in there
- 74: The girl watching Lund closely when he talked
- 75: Leaving Rainey raging but helpless
- 76: Lund sought the ardor of competition
- 77: Much larger than Rainey had anticipated
- 78: Yet half sullen as they waited to hear what Lund had to say
- 79: Only Lund surveyed it nonchalantly
- 80: Booming on their floe as if it had been a drum
- 81: Rainey ain't on the ship's books Carlsen is
- 82: Tamada has been wonderful to me
- 83: Led six men toward the Karluk
- 84: Lund opened up the strong room
- 85: Lund glared at her half truculently
- 86: Though Rainey could see a shrinkage
- 87: Lund gave the holding floe scant attention
- 88: Lund was centered on one achievement
- 89: And Rainey doubted whether Lund
- 90: Staring at Lund with a covert grin
- 91: Lund tossed him a scrap of advice
- 92: While two more sprang for Lund
- 93: Tamada stood farther back and could not see them
- 94: Helped Tamada patch up the wounded
- 95: Tamada shrugged his shoulders slightly
- 96: Before Rainey could fling himself between them
- 97: Lund released the girl and jumped to the wheel
